I keep seeing that magic number, £200, but never actually met anyone who really spends that much. That makes me think that those that do are few and far between. I know we don't! Wherever we stop, we try and make friends with people for a chat and most, like us will go get fish and chips locally and some use Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon put very little into the local economy, like most pubs, they are chains and the money moves out to head office, apart from local taxation and wages. They don't even source locally. Fuel is the same, ask any fuel station owner. Very little margin in it. It is sad that another place is going, but if their is no benefit for the locals, I can understand it. And don't forget, by allowing overnighting and allowing people to use a car park as an overnight stop, it will impact their insurance.
