Lubrication of awning winch mechanism

What do you use to lubricate these mechanisms and how often?

I honestly can't remember ever lubricating the mechanisms we've owned. Perhaps I should be ashamed.

To be fair, I'm not a great lover of awnings and use it as little as possible.

Come aun ing is this a wind up or in,teflon spray would do just fine.

ordinary spray grease gave it almost a tin full first time now give it a top up every year
