Have any of you folks visited Madrid in your motorhome? By that I mean have you stayed in the area and camped and then gone in by public transport?

If so could you please recommend a campsite?

Thanks

We stayed in Aranjuez and went into Madrid by train. It was about a 25 min walk from the campsite to the train station. We spent the day walking around Madrid. You can see the main sites in Madrid -, Palace, Gardens, Main Street etc by walking. We are keen, albeit elderly walkers. Aranjuez itself is well worth spending some time in.

We stayed at Camping Osuna, (2017) and caught the bus into the city. The camp site was Ok and I would certainly recommend it.
We just had to walk up the road a bit to catch the bus, which at the time was free (but not now).
Bus goes past the Bull ring, so we jumped off at that stop, and jumped back on after the visit.

Unfortunately Osuna is closed in January.

We stayed at Aranjuez for 1 night on our way down to Spain this year and it is our favourite for next year as a base to visit Madrid.

Anyone stayed elsewhere that they could recommend?

Thanks

Graham
