Merc 30 years breakdown cover

Merc provide a Europe wide breakdown cover for all vans reg after Oct 1 2012 if regular serviced .I have used it twice .Check it out -Mobilo Van . Many are not aware of this business service open to motorhomes. The wording says call in event of breakdown and ACCIDENT. Can save money over the years .

The van has to have been serviced according to the handbook schedule and, if out of the warranty period, the last service must have been carried out by an authorised Mercedes workshop. Apart from these restrictions this seems to be a great service.

How would a MB camper owner get around the terms and conditions :-

*MobiloVan applies to vehicles purchased from an authorised Mercedes-Benz Dealer, originally destined for and first registered in the UK on or after 01.10.2012. To extend your coverage beyond the initial three years of warranty cover and up to a maximum of thirty years, have your vehicle serviced at one of our approved workshops and it will automatically be renewed until the next service is due. Terms and conditions apply.

most campers would have been through a converter and bought from a motorhome not MB authorised dealer ?

Ours purchased second hand from Travelworld who supplied it from new. No problem purchased through a motorhome dealer.Used it twice ,no problem, very effecient

My fathers FIAT Panda also gets breakdown cover (now older than 3 years) by having it serviced at a FIAT dealer though only for upto 15 years

we had to ask for it , it didnt seem to be offered automatically and took them a little while to sort it out

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo is free of charge for you. The only prerequisite for receiving Mercedes-Benz Mobilo and for continuing to receive it is regularly having the respective due service carried out at your Mercedes-Benz service partner. Security in the knowledge that you will always reach your destination is always on board. And in your vicinity: because, with around 3000 Mercedes-Benz service partners, one of the most comprehensive service networks in Europe is always there to support you round the clock

Servicing at MB will cost way more than buying seperate breakdown cover. ADAC around £95 p.a. and covers every vehicle you own including motorbikes.

My last service July 2017 at a MB commercial dealership was £288 factor in that services on Sprinters are only required at 20,000 miles or two years Then its not too bad as its every 2years in my case

also I was with ADAC for quite a few years and never needed them but stopped using them after reading from other motorhome users of extremely high EXTRA charges from ADAC for recovery

now rely on Breakdown cover via bank
