More Coolant Worries

Here we go again, now on our travels through France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany and the water temperature light on the dash is illuminating occasionally.
The temperature gauge is reading in the normal range and (thanks to the new fan sensor switch) the fans are coming on and off as expected,.plus the coolant level is correct.
Can't understand why the light is coming on ?
Ideas anyone..??

Buy a cheap infrared thermometer and you’ll be able to see what is hot.

We had a similar problem, the water temp light came on at the start of our trip to the south of France though the temp gauge showed normal
We stopped for an hour or so ( for lunch) and when I started the engine, the temp light came on straight away.
Turned out the sender was faulty.

It will be the sender which has prob been cooked in the past, also make sure you are using the correct mix of coolant.
