Just found an old receipt for the blue dolphin caravan park Scarborough from last year three nights £195. I remember paying it under duress from wife and daughter wanting too spend a few nights on a site with a swimming pool and entertainment for a few days weather was shitee pitch was uneven beer and shop were overpriced toilets and shower block weren’t the best. Anybody else feel like a victim when booking certain sites.

Not quite the same, but a few years back we stayed for a night at a vineyard at St. Emilion (part of the France Passion network). Had a tour and a taste, bought 6 bottles of various vintage at a cost of €96. Our dearest ever night!
Laid down the bottles when we came home and have only broached one so far. We knew what we were buying having so not conned. Makes a nice change as we nearly always buy in the supermarkets at about €3.90. In fact we sometimes see how cheaply we can buy it before it is unpalatable.
At the other end of the spectrum we bought €5 of vegetables on a france Passion farm site. Could have used a wheelbarrow to get it back to the van.

We took the grandkids to Butlins at Skegness every year, staying on the campsite there was approx £50 per night, two adults, three children and two dogs with full access to the park, £700 for the fortnight but one year we had a few money worries so we took them to Rutland Water, we took the trampoline, played football, cricket, took them swimming etc., total site fees were £70 @ £5 per night, the following year the money was coming in again so we asked them if they wanted to go to Butlins again and they all said no it was more fun at Rutland, music to a tight Yorkshiremans ears?

Morning
Was this Château La Rose Cotes Rol - highly recommended - we've been staying there since 2008 - lovely site with very nice people - it is a family run vinyard with the son having just taken over the business on our first visit - his father is a keen Motorhomer hence the French Passions connection.
The wine is good - not the cheapest around - but good - especially the 2010 which we bought in 2011 for us and our grandchildren (when they are 21). We've reently been broaching their 2000 and 2001 vintages, and they are stunning. Suggest you keep the wines for about 14 years for them to reach their best. Don't worry, they won't deteriorate
If you go to St Emillion do take the guided tour including the 'heart of the underground monuments and its amazing church' excavated under the town - its quite amazing.
Anyway - Cheers ? and Happy Christmas ?
