After having a stand up row and contacting dvsa, we got finally Nellie through her MOT. The tester was trying to fail her because the headlight flasher does not work, this is not a requirement. Nellie has now been sold and replaced with a slightly younger model. Time to source a new test station for next year.

The tester must be desperate for work if failing things he doesn't have to test!
Definitely go somewhere else.

I cant see he's wasting his time on stuff he doesn't have to test.
Fair enough if he tried it and told you it wasn't working - if keeping the van you nay have asked him to fix it I suppose.

No its managed perfectly weel for the last 4years. I am an ancient driver who learnt to drive a real motor.

Always ask for an appeal form which the mot stations are required to have. First instance asked to be shown the fail criteria in the mot manual 👍
