i posted recently about using mums old machine several of you said you also had one this is the 201k in a cabinet similar to the one below , i had a friend that used to be in the hosiery come to look at it considering it hadn’t been used for about 20 years we looked up servicing on you tube covered everywhere in oil & eventually it was whizzing away unfortunately the stop`start out pedal is permanently on ?i thought of buying a foot pedal from amazon and replacing it but the original seems to have a capacitor? built in , for ease of fitment i’m thinking of just buying an inline switch and fitting it on the power line would this work ?IMG_2048.pngIMG_2047.jpegIMG_2679.jpeg

The original foot pedal presumably controlled the speed, which can be important.
You might look here: https://www.singermachines.co.uk/se...3BqNB2yF-L61xxr1JYD1X82Eku&manufacturename=17
or on ebay, such as https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284159502068

thanks everyone i didn’t realise the floor pedal also controlled the speed i have sent for the one in the link 🤞the machine runs without the foot pedal connections made although this probably is the capacitor not confident enough to go that route IMG_2047.jpeg
