Most of us hear music that remind us of certain things or people
Most things are reminded to me via certain songs
When I hear WIND BENEATH MY WINGS by Bette Midler I reminisce about our wedding day
Like when I went to a youth club in Heywood Lancashire called WIGWAM my friend Karen was crazy on STONED LOVE by The Supremes
My friend Ann, when we went to THE CATS WHISKERS Oldham Lancashire was crazy on LETS STAY TOGETHER by AL Green
I have lots of recordings that remind me one way or another

Example: everybody relates CANDLES IN THE WIND by Elton John to LADY Dianna Spencer

Do you have clips of music that brings back memories that reminds you

I knew Wayne, or rather Glyn, as a lad when we were both knocking around the (very) late 50s/ early 60s Manchester / Stockport music scene. I had a rather unfortunate brush which curtailed my rise to super stardom, but young Mr Ellis managed a bit better. He still lives just a short distance away here in Glossop and we do, on the odd occasion meet up for a quiet gill ( now he's not beating up debt collectors and setting fire to their cars)
As a bassist at the dawn of this period, there were not many around, and I played with many bands that went on to greater things, so young *****, it may have been me.

It was at Clayton Lodge, Newcastle under Lyme.
I had a Leak Amp with twin 18 inch goodman speakers, in a bloody BIG cabinet!
Can't remember the year, probably around 1968 (ish)
The stage was not big enough for two sets of full equipment and mine was used
Ah, to late for me then, my career came to a rather abrupt end a few years before

Anyway I got married in 67 and there were more important things to do at night

Ah well, I've still got mine!!,

We have kinda kidnapped this promising thread, sorry. For me there are several tunes.
1st Return to Sender by Elvis. This was the moment when I met Sue. At our local Friday dance club, we came together for a barn dance, followed by a cha cha to wheels by the string alongside. That was in December 1963 at the Christmas dance. There are several tunes that I could add, but that's the start

Only a couple that really grab me.

First
instantly reminds me of splitting up with my wife in 1985

and this because I found it wasn't the end of the world and I could feel again.
