Just wondering what type of music everyone listens to as I have radio one playing.

Our membership covers such a wide range of ages and sections of society and it’s hard to imagine what you old folks do :)

I can picture Colin at the Last night of the proms and Lee pogoing around to a bit of punk but what about others :)

You don't have to be young to prefer modern music, I'm 70 and am never nostalgic about my music, my present favourite band is 'Arcade fire" who are well worth a listen.

I love almost any type of music, from old or new 'pop' to brass bands, blues to classical, jazz to folk... you get the picture! I especially love music I can dance around the house to and my radio is on all day long. I tend to listen to Radio 2 a lot these days - there's a fair bit of variety and, like Rob, I hate to miss Popmaster :) I get quite emotional about lyrics these days too

Thinking about it, I guess I don't care much for old school bluegrass and any country music that's too 'twangy' and nasal but you don't hear it too much these days, so no problem:LOL: Oh and classical choral is definitely not on my playlist.

I'm not keen on opera, but do like classical music, and i'm with you Jennie on the country music, except....I really enjoyed the set that Dolly Parton did at Glastonbury a couple of years ago. Plus 1 for pop master. If i get 3 i'm chuffed.:D

I love Dolly Parton too. I do like quite a bit of country - from Johnny Cash to Shania and I love the modern stuff from the Shires. It's the really fiddly diddly old twangy ones that set my teeth on edge - like the bluegrass style. I don't know how else to describe it.

I'm usually rubbish at Popmaster but I scored 24 once - no cheating, honest, I just struck lucky with the bonus questions. I felt like I wanted to tell the world :ROFLMAO: Now I know there are some fans on here, I know where to come if it happens again :)

i like most music........classical (not heavy stuff tho) folk, country, dance music, ................suppose it just depends what mood im in...........

I listen to smooth radio in the house and in the van - trouble is certain parts of the county you cannot get it and then there is only rubbish. I also like Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, Dusty Springfield, Bonnie Tyler, Pavourotte ( wrong spelling), Tom Jones

6Music is our radio station of choice - Nick Cave, Goat, Gomez, etc., and reggae (especially dub)....

Oh dear, I guess you wouldn't enjoy camping with us -- I'm a Bluegrass fiddler/mandolin player, but I promise I won't link our YouTube channel to this thread! That said, all the members of our band have fairly eclectic musical tastes; we like both types of music, "Country" and "Western" ;)

FWIW, we had a great time at Bluegrass festivals this year and are looking forward to the Cornish Bluegrass Festival mid-September. The UK Bluegrass community are a great bunch and these festivals offer opportunites to jam with some really good musos.

Jazz week in bude this week!!!
Lots of vans on the rugby club field, no one from here?????

I've had 39 a few times Jennie, (honest!) I've also scored 3 before now, all depends on the questions - they're easy if you know the answers!

I'm hopeless with most stuff after the year 2000, and if I ever actually got on the show, my brain would turn to mush.

I listen to stuff that old people don't like.
Spill the beans Phil lets see if you are right, if its drum & Base or Trance you are haha

I do hope you dont mean banjo or mandolin Jennie as they are my two favourite instruments and I want to learn to play both if I ever stop moving around for a while :)

Please do link it Geoff, I like a bit of bluegrass, not much I dont like really just have to be in the right mood :)

I used to be a huge radio two listener, but since it went PC recently (I have no interest in knickers unless there is a girl inside them) I only get Ken and Steve, Johnnie on Sunday, the rest is pretty Blah Blah, in the car and home I switch to heart 70s or 80s, the ads are a pain, but the music mostly suits us, I occasionally catch re-runs of TOTP on TV.
