Music Tastes

I quite like this song right now, it’s in the charts. It’s called 2002.

Well posted a proper song with a story to it, I may have to download this.

Basically I like all sorts of music as like Jennie I like something that I can dance to around the house and my radio is on all day I usually listen to Metro radio or Smooth

Like lots of different stuff, acoustic guitar, flamenco, country and western, folk, folk harp, Beatles and that era, hate the rap crap.

early blues ,early cajun, uillean bag and northumbrian etc pipes , Irish music , planxty etc. odd stuff -trying to find this tune at the mo to put on my list

There is a guitar thread on the wild side (oppy is selling a guitar over there, btw, if anyone is interested, here's the link).

I adore acoustic and could listen to a good guitarist playing (whatever kind of music!) all day long.

Home grown instruments are good. (y):)

Here's an old friend of ours who is a Northumbrian luthier.
Some quite nice guitars and other stringed instruments.
Semi-retired now, so not much chance now of getting a custom built these days!
He made a special order custom guitar for Mark Knofler about 6 or 7 years ago, I think?

A nice clip of someone playing one of his guitars here.

Pink Floyd; Emerson, Lake and Palmer; Yes; The Doors; Led Zeppelin; Deep Purple; Rolling Stones...

...but will listen to most things tbh.

From Traditional to Rock not heavy banging rock though. James Taylor ,Pink Floyd , Lynyrd Skyward, Paul Brady , Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Stereophonics to name a few, also loved the Transatlantic sessions that was aired on BBC 4 from Killiecranky.

being able to understand the words doesn't always help -Bohemian Rhapsody
Knights in White satin
i shot the Sheriff
etc
Was it not I shot up the sheriff?

We love most kind of music if it's listenable. Classic FM in the car and all manner of junk in the 'van (especially if it's me !!)

On PBS America (Channel 91 on Freeview) they are doing the story of Country and Western I have watched it before but I will be watching again.
