I wondered if there were others who had there MOTORHOME turned into a Labour Suite. I have 2 Chihuahuas and they love my Van and really feel at home ,So much so that My girl Pippa has just given birth to a litter of five little fluffy long haired Chihuahuas, I had just paid almost £600 for 2 pet passports and the relevant jabs and blood tests to go touring in europe for a month only to realise she was due right at the start of our holidays, so were stuck in uk for the time being, I didn't want to have problems re-entering the UK, so were down cornwall at the moment. she's neither up nor down, just taking it in her stride.and were lapping up the glorious sunshine.

Apart from the fact that I am staunchly against dog breeding.................... Surely, the vet would have known Pippa was pregnant and surely the owners must have also known! I am sorry but as a man who devotes his entire life to the well being of his four legged friends this kind of stupid story makes my blood quite literally boil.

Firstly being staunchly against dog breeding does not mean you can poopoo every dog breeder maybe you should aim that more at puppy farms if there aren’t home breeders then people will still keep going to the puppy farms, secondly for someone who devotes his life to the four legged friends then you should know that a dog is pregnant for between 58 and 68 days (2months) a dog passport has to be applied for 3 months before travel so she would not have been pregnant at the time of going to the vets so I would say a person that would give up his holiday to stay in the UK with his pregnant dog rather than dump on relatives is a very responsible owner so your post is a bit harsh.

Firstly being staunchly against dog breeding.

The number one problem experienced by the specialist dog rescue charities we support is almost always to do with dog breeding and puppies.

One of my dogs is a rescued ex puppy farm breeding b*tch so I know only too well how they can be abused, but clearly in this case, we are not discussing such a dog but a loved pet.
As for the case in point, so the owner didn't know she was in season, oh and they didn't know there was an intact male dog near to her.......... come on, get real !!!!

I have lost count the amount of times I/we have heard b*tch owners saying words to the effect "we are letting her have one litter because she needs to"............ what they are in fact saying is that they want to breed from her so they can recoup the amount their dog cost them or indeed make a thumping great profit! I have just done a search and pups like the ones in question will normally go for £800 to £1,000.

Well in my opinion I would rather someone who wants a specific breed of dog to go to a reputable home breeder and pay the going rate for a healthy pet than go to a puppy farm thinking they are getting a bargain, and you don’t know the circumstances of the poster and how it happened. I have rescued dogs all my life out of the 14 dogs I have owned and have 3 at this point in time only 2 were not rescued from difficult circumstances so I still think you are a bit harsh on the original poster who is clearly sharing a proud and so rightly said by silver sprinter let’s get back to celebrating the new arrival s.

I agree with Annie. Pregnancies, planned or otherwise, happen in even the most regulated of households, to humans as well as four legged friends.

Anyway, enough of that - let's have some photos of the gorgeous litter of five little fluffy long haired Chihuahuas so we can drool over them, please.

aww...how looooverly duverly...........5 gorgeous adorable pups..........you certainly will have your hands full now........lots of fun..............
be nice to get updates on them all......pics as well of course......

Huge congratulations Kilmux. What a lovely surprise! Glad to hear that mum and pups are doing well. I agree with Annie... would love to see some pics :)

Sorry, but I beg to differ.
I just can't understand you taking such a negative view of this... and especially getting heavy with a brand new full member of the forum. What a sad welcome! Nowhere does it say that Kilmux Koi is a breeder... sounds to me like people who love and enjoy their pets and have gone out of their way to make sure mum and pups are fine. I wish them well and hope they enjoy the pups and the Cornish sunshine, in lieu of their disrupted Europe trip.

I agree with, thankfully the majority of, other replies. Well done for sticking by your dogs and adjusting your holidays accordingly.

Please don't be put off the forum by one very opinionated view.

Now, where are those photos!
