My first trip

Lots of good advice already given. How old is your motorhome? A thorough driveway test would avoid disappointment if something doesn't work. Try a night of hook up then try to see how many nights you can last on battery. Try the water heater and see how short a shower you can manage with. See how long you can eke a full tank of water out. Try fridge on electric 1st night at medium setting then gas the next night on same setting....which is colder? Can you make the motorhome dark enough to sleep in. Does your mattress need a topper? Write a departure checklist for leaving the pitch....steadies up, gas off, fridge to 12v, drawers locked, fridge door locked, aerial stowed, pump off, skylights closed, electric step in, ehu unplugged.... I am taking an unexpected trip to Kent tomorrow and will be staying overnight (two nights probably!) As an emergency, mum in law has ended up with her right arm in plaster for six weeks. At nearly 90yrs she didn't feel she could ask my brother in law to help her with undressing and the many other things she cannot do. Finally told me she has been sleeping in and wearing the same clothes for two nights since she fell, eating standing in the kitchen as can't carry food & hold walking stick at once! Brother in law really was unaware and took her word for it she is fine! Men!
So leaving my very forgetful mum with husband, ( he who had a seizure and waiting neurologist appointment) and praying nothing else happens while I am not there!
Not the first trip away I had planned!

I was a bit judgemental there, wasn't I! My brother in law is great but, understandably, does not relate to things like washing hair, ( as a bald man!) and he just doesn't notice clothes at all so failed to notice wearing same things, as for doing up a bra!!
Only stayed a couple of nights to sort her out. Next trip maybe in a couple of weeks.
