Any member booking a rally after 24th April 2024 are now required to provide a contact phone number and their vehicle registration. Please read this thread for more details.
Unfortunately no barn! The owner has sublet it for a year. Access to the barn won't affect us.
There is direct access to the Forest on a dedicated path through a neighbouring property. This is on condition that we DO NOT TOUCH NOR FEED THE HORSES on the property and dogs are kept on a short lead.
Heads up: As of 1st July 2023 you can be fined for:
(a) feeding or providing or depositing food for consumption by any New Forest Pony, Horse, Mule or Donkey; or
(b) petting or touching any New Forest Pony, Horse, Mule or Donkey;
10am Friday - come and meet members old and new (outside our motorhome) - bring your own coffee/tea, I will supply cake/biscuits!
The Happy Fryer has retired due to ill health I only found out today when I contacted them to make sure they were still coming. I’ll try and find another one but not hopeful as it’s peak season - sorry! That's a fail, so sorry - I've tried everywhere possible.
The meet is in a field, water, rubbish bins and toilet emptying. Please be hygiene mindful for you and others when you use the water, elsan and bins. NO FIRES, the area is very vulnerable, GAS BARBECUES ONLY supervised and off the ground.
Dogs are allowed on site but must be on a lead.
The nearest pub is now The Rosie Lea tea rooms, restaurant & bar, we will try and get a discount again. The Filly Inn is 1.1 miles up the road, the vineyard, Setley Ridge which has a garden centre, café, farm shop and wine tastings, a bit further. The Red Lion is .8 mile down the road and The Fleur de Lys dating back to 1096 is a bit further on at 1.6 miles.
There is a security gate which has to be locked at night, arrivals strictly 10am (12am Thurs 18th) - 8pm. It would be helpful when you book if you could indicate which day you plan to arrive.
FEES £9/unit/night IN CASH ON ARRIVAL IN A SEALED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR FORUM NAME, VAN REG NO, NO OF NIGHTS AND AMOUNT ENCLOSED WRITTEN ON THE OUTSIDE. No money, no entry
Please bring bags that can be tied/sealed to put your rubbish in before putting in the bin. Separate bin for glass. Dog waste in a separate bin.
There is an hourly bus to Brockenhurst/Southampton and Lymington which stops at the gate. Will have timetable at the meet.
There's a huge very popular STREET MARKET IN LYMINGTON on Saturdays. http://www.lymingtonmarket.co.uk
The CAR BOOT sale on Sunday
Lymington to Yarmouth (IOW) ferry tickets info and timetable online
The New Forest Tour bus - will have prices/info at the meet
Lyndhurst can be a big bottleneck in the summer. If you are coming down on M27 take the exit for Fawley (but don't go to Fawley) and then follow the signs for Beaulieu (go extra slow there as there are often donkeys in the road) and then Brockenhurst which will take you to the A337 to Strawberry Fields. Beaulieu to Brockenhurst is quite narrow and winding, we get there ok in ours just over 7m.
Please let us know if you change your mind about attending, don't need to know why, to allow someone to take your place
STEWARD ON DUTY 10AM-8PM (12-8PM THURS) ANY ARRIVALS OUTSIDE OF THESE HOURS PLEASE PM ME TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS
New requirements for rallies.
Hi, Going forward, we will require members to provide their vehicle registration number and a mobile contact number if they wish to book rallies. These details will only be available to rally organisers and me. No one else will be able to see your details. We have just had to make changes to...
