Nice little Wingamm

Yes, the video showed one being lifted onto a chassis, less leaks and a stiffer body.

I think it was one of these I had a look around while I was at a Dealers checking out the Autotrail that I was going to but but ultimately didn't ....

Think I am in the minority here as I thought it way too plastically and just didn't like it :( (Maybe the fact I preferred the 2010 Autotrail and ultimately bought a 2008 Autotrail explains it? :) )

I 100% absolutely agree, it's too much like an ambulance, I'm like the look of whatever wood they normally look like, it just feels warmer even if in reality it isn't, as for the bed, the one we looked at around 2010 the up and down mechanics looked very strong and a clever design, but I hate spindly ladders in bear feet, and While I was on it I asked Liz to see if it moved side to side and it does quite a bit so that killed that, you can see some movement in the video @https://youtu.be/8O-IODLU5pc?t=281

Only you have bear feet.

The wood used in Motorhomes does seem to be a love/hate thing? My Autotrail has LOADS of it - maybe too much? Even the Fridge had the old wood-effect veneer on the doors (surprised the oven door wasn't wood!).
I don't mind it really, but the OH is not keen :( - But seeing as it is MY Motorhome (and I say that as she rarely is in it, and if she is, the record is 2 consecutive nights), I am not that fussed over 'updating' it.

However, I had watched this video a few months back and I quite liked the way they brightened up the interior. Maybe some selective covering to keep some of the warmth of the wood but also get a more contemporary feel at the same time?

I think they call it Maple, my FF in the self build had a silver slide in piece on both doors, I had some spared 3mm maple ply so put that in and I painted as muck of the awful gray control panel etc satin black as I could.

Thinking back, my Thetford Fridge had the same mid-gray trim around the edges that your Fridge did, plus the wood-effect frontage. I didn't really mind that TBH, but when I replaced the fridge, I went for an all-black fridge (think the choice was Black, White or Silver?) and I think it does look better. And with the Cooker being black and the Truma Fire being black, it doesn't look out of place at all.
What I like about the approach in that video I linked to is the vinyl used is removable, so if you change your mind it leaves no trace, so much less permanent than painting the wood, which I know some people do.

As an aside, the Autotrail I looked at the dealers had a cream stick-on trim on the bottom of the top locker doors - like this example far as I can tell.

The van would have been 10 years old at the time we looked at it and all that cream stuff was peeling off around the edges and top and bottom. It was only stuck on so would have been easy enough to remove and clean up, but shows the glue only lasts so long in Motorhomes!
On my 2007MY Autotrail, I have a different type of two-tone effect

Mine is two different types/colours of wood joined together. I don't know HOW they are joined, but it is definately two separate pieces - can tell from the sides and inside - and they are very securely joined. Much more robust than the sticky over on the newer Autotrail (and probably more expensive to make?).
It is a nice effect (IMO) and not sure if I would really want to cover it. maybe Vinyl over the top part only?

Biscuits or a long spline in a saw cut is the usual way.
