No More Calmac Standby for Motorhomes

They want to sort their bloody website out. Been trying to book a ferry to Lewis for 3 days and could not get onto the payment page... grrr... got to Ullapool and sorted a crossing for tonight in less than ten minutes. 3am arrival in Stornaway.

I expected to go on standby for a few days so was amazed to get a crossing!
K ;)

Tried to get off Isle of Arran this morning, across to Ardrossan, in the M/H. Pulled up at the check in barrier, "Have you booked in?"
"No".
How are you supposed to book in when the internet signal is practically non existant, and the phone signal is very poor?
Sharp intake of breath, "We are very busy today, go and book in at the Reception".
"We are very busy today, can't fit you in until tomorrow evening, and that sailing could be cancelled due to bad weather!" Bad weather? They don't know what bad weather is, try being on a frigate in the South China Sea in a typhoon before saying that!
Meanwhile, of the two ferries on this route, one is sat at the Brodick ferry terminal doing nothing at all!
Very busy! No wonder they are getting poor reviews!

It seems that standby for motorhomes is no longer available, so a booking with reservation is the only way to get on a sailing.
