North 500 road closures

Personally, I don't go up there between Easter and November, it's just getting too crowded.

I've always preferred the Winter anyway.

EDIT: Oops, should have read the link. I thought it was referring to just the Easter closure on the Bealach na Bar.
 
The A82 looks like the Taliban been working on it there’s pot holes everywhere winters realy messed it up big style reports of locals getting wheels and suspension damaged and the company responsible for repairs say they can’t carry out repairs till weather clears up got a feeling there’s going to be a summer of discontent.
 
Yes to "Wully"'s post...Some roads made impassable in January Good if they are back in use but bad surfaces etc inevitable.
I am not a "roadbuilder" but I do appreciate that if roads are simply patched up with no repair to the underlying foundation...They will simply need patching again ! And all too soon.
Repairing the foundations needs decent weather for it to be solid and safe before completing with upper layers and finally Tarmac. Not a huge problem for us but a nightmare for Truckers, Whitevanmen and others who have to travel for a living !

There is not a lot on the west cost mostly wild camping a lot of vans stopped at the small site in Shieldaig where you shared your pitch with the sheep. But one of the farmers has taken it over and is making it into a proper site with all facility's but don't think it will be open this year. I like the Sands caravan park just outside Gairloch

We went anticlockwise from mid-May to late June.
No problems with traffic flow even on the "narrow sections".
Lots of wild-camping.
Maybe different in the height of "Scottish Summer" (Whatever that is !!)
