One for 2CV

Thanks for that Terry. I've delivered there at least twice, but I never got into the air side. I did ask, it was good to see what I had missed, I hope they keep to the same safety standards now that costs will have spiralled so much.

Thanks Terry, I’d never seen that. I’d already left Bristow for BCal helicopters when that was made and just about to give up rotary for ever for the safer pastures of BA Highlands and their 748s.
You're welcome Bill.

I imagine moving from rotary to fixed wing, especially rotary dropping, off and picking up bears from a postage stamp helideck, dealing with unpredictable wind gusts, with said gusts moving the flare around, a lot to deal with.

Fixed wing, flying to lovely destinations, most of the air miles with your feet up on the dash as auto pilot engaged, oh, and trolley dollies!!

Yes, was a good move  (y)

Flying 6 sector days round Scotland was not quite as you describe 😂

In the film I saw several Bristow S61s which I’ve flown and a BA 757, so all very relevant for me. Admittedly the scenery often beat the North Sea.

I've just been using Flight radar, to track a FAO to LBA flight yesterday.
Incoming flight diverted to Seville. Due to the storms that savaged the campsite at Albufeira.

Our guest was 12 hours in transit
On the website, I heard that Condor has retired the last 2 757s in European service..
Jet 2 used to keep one but maybe that's gone the way of the magnificent 747.
I believe they're a few left shifting cargo..?

Yes, Jet 2 retired the last UK 757s recently.
Happy times, visual into Glasgow in a 757:
