when we sold up & downsized with all the money temporarily in the account the bank advised us to change to a premier account no annual charges and travel ins included i’m diabetic type 2 that’s ok when we specified we needed 120 days travel insurance that wasn’t a problem !!, now i’m approaching 70 the cut off date i rang to see if i could extend it to be told we only got the 120 days for the first year so for the last 8 trips we haven’t been covered,
started a search today i have type 2 diabetes & had a hospital stay for pneumonia within the last 2 years cheapest cover for us both £360 with saga anyone any recommendations

Probably no use to you as it means swapping banks/accounts but Caz gets travel/holiday insurance included with her RBS account. She is diabetic and we called them on the off chance before going to Spain a few years ago to find she is covered. Result although she has a way to go yet for 70

You're on a forces pernsion , Ken...? Other Pension Providers..?
. Try them all of them.

Probably worth having a look at Allclear They were the only ones that I could obtain cover with at one time, and I’ve since found them to be consistently competitive.

that’s the sort of cover we had nab but we understood it covered us for 120 days as we specified when we signed up only to find out today when i tried to extend it we were only covered for 31 days after the first year

all travel ins i have found covers for flight cancellations etc obviously don’t need that & breakdown ins covers most of that side just after medical ins anyone know who does that

Try talking to Safeguard.. or look at the Nationwide B.S. top Flex account.. ?

Had similar problem getting cover for Dave and me this year, Saga were £1200, others were around £600, seems to be because we want 120 days, and Dave has pre-existing conditions. Ended up with none at the moment! Last year ( when he was 65) it was £200 for both of us! Plan to do more searching next week.

You can usually exclude pre-conditions, so if you are confident the your diabetes is not going to be a problem that requires insurance cover, then you don't have to pay to insure for it.

Try some of the back packer insurance companies. We have a 12 month travel insurance policy which doesn't have things like flight delays and baggage insurance. We paid around £500 for a 12 month trip which included two pre-exiting conditions

Hi. I haven’t read all the posts about this but try insurancewith.com. I have had several insurance companies that cover declared medical issues and found these to be the best with a very reasonable cost. Have recommended them to several people who have moved to them.
