Boxer 2007 - have recently had oil light comes on and then will go off. Oil levels fine, sump plug good, no obvious mechanical issue. We have replaced oil pressure switch but still doing it. Would mention water ingress in engine but we have an engine cover now but as got secondhand haven’t been able to source all the parts to fit it yet. Might not be related to oil light but anyone else had this and found out what it was?

When does the light come on and go off?
Is there a pattern, accelerating off a roundabout, up hill, down hill or even after long drive?
When was oil and filter last changed, how many miles has the oil been in the engine, was the correct oil used?

Hi have a look at travel trolls on U tube, they had a problem like this and a viewer sent them a remedy.
This involved a combination of clutch depressions and accelerator pressed hard to floor....and it worked

think you mean OP

Dan of Travel Trolls changed the oil before it was due but didn't reset the oil change mileage counter. A good few miles later, the message came up and was re-set using accelerator and brake pedal depressions.
I did similar before going to Europe last year and the light/indicator came up whilst in Europe. Re-set it out there as didn;t fancy light being on all the way home.
Think the OP has oil pressure sensor light which is different but oil change and filter may help.
Cheers,
Alan
