Poppy

I was disappointed that a few people ignored the 2 minutes silence, but pleased to see that one family's children looked decidedly embarrassed.

I went in my 2CV to a classic car breakfast meet at a pub at Dungeness on Romney Marsh this morning. In the garden there is a memorial with an engine from a B17 bomber that ditched just offshore killing most of the crew . My wife and I stood there at 11.00 for the 2 minute silence. We were the only ones to mark the silence.

Everyone else simply carried on chatting and revving engines etc.

Not good!

In East Hunsbury and Collingree villages, we have the silhouette of the soldier at ease in many places , and a large poppy on most lampposts. Great gesture, I hope an equivalent amount of money was given to British Legion.
Several of the permanent park benches also have the Fallen theme.

Was surprised to hear Jim Davidson slagging off the British Legion on You Tube Channel 🤔

The Legion may not always be able to help. But they know where to find it. 👍
