Liz wants to know if there are any places up in Scotland like RAF Coningsby where you can camp and watch planes all day.

Not as busy as RAF Conisbury, but RAF Lossiemouth might be worth visiting.

We were there last year & stayed by the sea in the WC spot. and we did sea aircraft now and then but you can't really park anywhere near the RAF station let alone overnight.

I spent a week at Lossiemouth with the Air Training Corps Annual camp. Those days it was RAF Coastal Command and flying Shackleton long range reconnaissance aircraft. That must have been around 1961.
