After the great success of the 2018 rally, I have arranged another rally at RAF Valley family day Air Show, Anglesey Wales.

The rally runs from Wednesday, May 29th until June 3rd 2019, you can come early and leave later if required. You must stay for at least two nights.

The family day is on Thursday 30th of May and you will be collected by the RAF base bus and taken from the campsite to the heart of the air show right at the base, also taken back to the campsite after the show. We can not accept any arrivals on Thursday So please make sure that you arrive on Wednesday.

Trewan house campsite just outside Rhosneigr town, about 25 min walk away. This site is very quiet overlooking Rhosneigr bay and spectacular views of Snowdonia mountains, there is a railway line run at the back of the site but the noise is minimal and trains stop in the evening The price is £10 per unit per night this gives you access to the showers and toilets and also waste disposal.

There are also a few EHU available at £5 per day, please state that you want a hookup when booking as they are limited!

The site is also dog friendly ( Dogs don't have to be on a lead but must be kept under control at all times and ALL poop must be cleaned up. If this is not adhered to then Phil will ask for all dogs to be put on the lead ) It is probably most dog friendly site in Wales.

Due to this being a midweek Rally me and Lorraine cannot attend, so unless any different Phil will be the Squadron Leader for the event

Campsite Address

Trewan House
Trewan Sands Crossing
Bryngwran
Isle of Anglesey
LL65 3SW

Coord: 53.247738, -4.520924

Follow these directions, not your sat nav or you will get stranded on narrow lanes

  1. A55 junction 5 Rhosneigr, turn right at the top of the slip road ( if your sat nav tries to turn you left IGNORE it as you will end up going down a very narrow and winding lane)
  2. Go across the next roundabout
  3. Turn left at the next junction that will bring you into Bryngwran
  4. Go past the pub on your left hand side then take next left at the cream coloured house
  5. Travel along the road past the petrol station then take next right at the large detached white house,( About 1/2 mile down the road after the petrol station )
  6. Go down the lane, it turns into a single track but don't worry as it is only for a short distance
  7. Keep right at the bottom it is signposted Trawan House
  8. Go over a small bridge then over a cattle grid onto a gravel road
  9. Go past the two campsites on the left and keep right down the gravel track through the golf course and the site is at the end of the track ( A big white building )

The Roads are typical welsh roads so take care, I have taken my 7.5m Autotrail down the lanes without any issues.

Dont forget to take all your supplies for the duration of your stay , the campsite is remote and the nearest shop is half hour walk or a 3 mile drive . I will have a chat with the campsite owner about taking milk , eggs and bread orders for the following day

Important Information

The reason we are being given this great opportunity to be at the family day is that the campsite must be evacuated during the air show.

You must leave the campsite whilst the air show is running. There are no exceptions. The air show will be cancelled if you stay on the campsite. If you are not happy with this then please do not book this rally.

The RAF will provide minibus transport to and from the RAF base, you must be ready to get on the minibus when it arrives and you must be back at the minibus ready for when it returns. You will not be able to take your motorhome.

You must arrive on Wednesday unless you have contacted Phil about an early arrival.

You must stay at least 2 nights.

You must book EHU in advance.

We are expecting a lot of demand for this rally and people will need to park where they are asked to, this will include the entire campsite and house grounds.

The cost is £10 per night per unit plus £5 per night if you have booked a hookup pitch.

I've never yet been to a meet, or rally, so an airshow seems to be a very good reason to go to my first. Please count me in.

I've only been to Anglesey once, and that was to sack someone, so I'd like happier memories!
