Remapping?

I’m thinking of getting my fiat ducato Motorhome remapped for better power and economy. It’s a 2014 with 19k miles. What are your thoughts and who’s done it?

We've had remaps on a couple of Ducatos mainly for mid range torque improvement. Certainly helps, just make sure that the technician knows what sort of improvements you want to achieve. Can't say about mpg boost as the current van has been mapped to 160 from new, but its a 2016 with 50k on the clock with no resulting mapping issues.

I've had 3 diesel vehicles remapped by different 'expert garages'

All 3 of them died with major ecu failure within 18 months.

May be coincidence who knows but I won't be having one done again

Ours is only the 100bhp version, and we've not run out of horses yet; it seems to go up any hills we've encountered, even in Switzerland, I don't see the point of a remap.

Mines the 100 BHP and has had a remap which was done many yrs ago by a previous owner.
A friend of ours has the bigger 2200cc engined Ducato and ours has a better acceleration then his and more power going up hills so you dont have to change down so much, what it was like before hand I dont know, however theres a big difference in power between being empty and loaded so I can imagine it would of been pretty slow when fully loaded before remap.
We like to cruise at 65 to 70mph as it seems really efficient on fuel at these speeds which it handles no bother without constant gear changing.
