Landslides close roads at Rest and Be Thankful as drivers face 60-mile detour

Emergency services are on the scene with the A83 closed in both directions from Arrochar to the A815 at Dunoon.

Always some delay on that road, I've never been up it without traffic lights at least in the last 18 years.

I’ve used it a few times over the years, without any issues. Loch Long and Loch Fyne, where R&BT is the route to Loch Fyne, mostly winter time for a days diving. With the lochs being sheltered and sea lochs from winter storms, they were the place to go. I wonder if the old global warming is compounding the issue with increased land slides?
