Reversing camera advice.

The Elddis I have just bought has a reversing cam but no monitor. The dealer reckons the previous owner probably had problems with the monitor and ditched it. He has estimated to fit a new monitor will be around £200 which seems steep considering there are full kits selling for a little over £100, and they are wireless. Can anyone recommend a good system, just in case I have to buy one? On the other hand, is it easy to match a monitor to the existing camera as it seems crazy to ditch the existing camera if there is nothing wrong with it.

On a typical reversing camera kit, the camera itself is a pretty cheap part of the setup, so if it were me, I would find a setup I liked the look of and if the existing camera happened to be compatible, bonus

I'd certainly be happy with Wireless kits and not mess around with running cables back to front.

We fitted a Garmin Wireless BC40 Camera [slots into a dedicated socket in a new number plate holder to give an unobstructed view when the bikes obscure the view from the roof mounted camera]. The BC40 pairs with the Garmin 780 Camper Satnav, using the Satnav screen as a monitor when reversing, and uses an AA Battery for power. Cost £125 including the new number plate mount and even I fitted it unaided in about 30 minutes. Better still, the BC40 can be dismounted and stored in the driver door pocket when not needed for reversing, so no risk of having it pinched!
