RIP Compost (Kevin)

I have read the sad news on wild camping that Kevin (@compost) passed away last night after battling mouth cancer.
Many of you may have met him at the rallies in the South.

He was active on the forums right up until Monday morning.

I want to offer my condolences to his family and friends.

I did meet him at the Dorset Burton Bradstock meet. A very nice man who would help anyone out. He ran me into town in his tow car and we had a good few beers together. I was hoping to meet up again at the Hollingworth meet but then he took his name off a couple of weeks back. I to would like to offer my condolences to his family at this very sad time. R. I. P. Kev.

I met Kevin by prior appointment at Newhaven Ferry Port in March 2022 at the start of our first European motorhome trip. Kevin showered me with site suggestions, map references, hints and tips, and emailed or messaged me every day for the first 10 days or so of the trip. Sometimes with site suggestions, sometimes with 'Any room where you are for a large Van?' query ...
