They can get you in a “bit of bother” anywhere if you follow them blindly. I often check my routes using satellite view and street view. Even sat navs that take your width into account like Co-Pilot will send you down impossibly narrow roads because they only pick up the problem if the road has a legal width limit. Lots of impossible roads do not have legal limits and the eyeball and is still the most important aid to navigation.

I drove through a wee village in France this summer right through the middle of the market If I had opened the window I could have done the shopping from the driver seat had a good laugh with some of the stall holders sat nav ain’t gonna tell what day the markets on.
