I took some measuremunts of my gas locker this morning as I've been contemplating fitting a 11kg Gasit and a 6kg Calor as back up, I have two 6kg in the locker as of now so only need a Gasit.

My gas locker is Locker is 547mm high x 665mm wide x 325mm deep.

So I messaged Gasit this morning to get the correct dimensions of their cylinders, they replied just now.

Good morning,

I can't 100% advise what size bottle that would fit your vehicle without having the vehicle here to see, but the sizes of our bottles are

6kg - Dimensions with Shroud: 495mm height x 246mm diameter or Dimensions without shroud: 470mm height x 246mm diameter

11Kg - Dimensions with Shroud: 580mm height x 304mm diameter or Dimensions without Shroud fitted : 550mm height x 304mm diameter.

Looking at the height of the bottle I think the only bottle that would fit is a 6kg bottle, and you can fit two of them.

3mm height or lack of it kills the idea stone dead, surely even in 2007 Swift would know the size of these cylinders   I would have had to buy a used locker door, which is fine as I'd just sell the old one.

So I'm looking for a used 6kg gasit or gaslow cylinder if anyone is selling one.

Even if the 11kg cylinder had fitted you would have struggled to access the cylinder valve. Have you considered an underslung tank?

Yes just too expensive, and I'd have fitting on top, I can do cylinders myself.

I looked a while ago but they seemed overly expensive.

I'll look again just in case.

around a grand for two bottle kit.

I think this is all I need, can anyone suggest anything I've missed, I have the hole saws

Ah, I need a hose to the regulator, but not sure which is the right one.

Far as I am aware, whatever hose you are currently using between Calor bottle and Regulator you can use between Gaslow and Regulator? When I installed my Gaslow, it was a like-for-like swap from the Calor, plus of course the extra hose from Galsow to Filler (included in the filler kit IIRC)

The Calor to reg hose has a Mushroom end to fit the bottle David, refillable don't have that
oh well. All I know is that on my setup, my yellow Gaslow and the Red Calor are interchangable unless I added something I have totally forgotten about.

Hi, I've got 2 Gaslow 11kg bottles with filling kit that are surplus to requirements, 1 is empty 1 is full, pm me if you're interested.
Thanks but sadly I can't use them as they are 3mm too tall for the locker I think, if they were 6kg I'd have them but I'd also need to fit a bigger locker door as well it starts to get expensive then.

It must be the drugs I'm on (Tramadol) I'm not normally this thick but my back pain is really bad just now so resorted to stronger meds.

Anyway David you are correct, you have to add the POL adaptor to do it, which I already put in the basket.

I know this because I have done it twice not only that but I have videoed it and put it on YouTube FFS.

So unless anyone knows where I get/buy the gear below cheaper I'll get the stuff ordered.

Something that just occured to me .... The Gaslow bottle I bought was a used one from an de-installation, so it could have already been fitted with "something" that made it 'calor-compatible'?
Sorry, that thought had only just occured to me :(

I'm glad I'm not alone.

This is the adaptor.

Gaslow 11Kg cylinder is 530mm high Kev.

Speak to Charlie at Autogas 2000, he sometimes has second hand cylinders as well as all types of new ones

Yeah I know Neil I did the sums and I'm 3mm short as I mentioned in the OP.

As for the company you mention, I would put red hot needles in my eyes before giving them another penny.

Already ordered my kit anyway.

your first post says ypu have 547mm hight, thats 17mm abkvetop of a Gaslow bottle?

Indeed it does my learned friend.

But if you read on it also says the Gasit bottle is 550mm so as said 3mm short, then I started to look at the Gaslow bottles and I could squeeze a 11kg in height wise, but they are 19mm wider than the 285mm door aperture, so it would need a new door, more expense, so I decided to stick with the 6kg Gaslow, and a 6kg Calor as a back up until I can get the Gaslow refilled.
