I already have a fold-up one for the van but it's too heavy & faffy to get it out and put it into the car, and I only really need it to go shopping with Liz and maybe an odd visit somewhere so range isn't important, wasting money is though so bearing in mind its very occasional use would though more branier then I take a look and give whatever advice you can.

Looks like this is the one your looking for as it ticks all he boxes you mentioned.
A replacement battery for mine cost a lot more than the total price of this one .

I've asked what weight it will take as I'm not lightweight.

I just looked on AliExpress too and there are tons on there, but the descriptions are really crap

I am just in the process of sending one back as it doesn't stop electrically! My hand isn't strong enough to stop it with the brake. Be aware this one has hand brakes.

I know nothing about mobility scooters, so with that caveat made here is an observation on that one in the link ...
As you steer round corners, your legs will turn as they are on pegs either side of the small front wheel. I imagine that could be quite uncomfortable and maybe create some awkward instability?
Just thinking the scooters I have happened to observe, the riders legs were always on a fixed platform and this is probably the common way for a reason?

Thanks Carol, I'm in two camps on brakes, the motor brakes seem to be good, I just wonder what would need to happen for them to fail.

Yes, as a main scooter that would be a big problem, but this would mainly be a supermarket hack only all very low speed Liz doesn't walk very fast.

I'm looking for something even smaller/lighter/cheaper if possible as it won't get a lot of use and I need to be able to carry it up 10 steps as I don't want it in the car all the time.

I found one of these (not this one) on Wednesday so bought it for much less, I get it Monday it's a bit narrow but I'll be ok as it's not for outdoors, just shopping with Liz.

My only concern is the length, and if it will fit in the boot ok, Liz is away in the car this week, I bought it cheap enough to resell if it doesn't fit so no biggy.

Don’t turn fast if your going at full tilt ..
You will get thrown off.

Did it myself just once on mine .

When I bought mine it was a little over 2 k. A few years ago .

It has never let me down and the ground clearance is good for curbs as well. Best buy for me to date ..
Yes it the bumph it mentions slow cornering, I'd have preferred one more like that but my funds just don't run to it.

Yes the first time at speed I was near of catapulted into a shop window because I turned fast at 6 mph.

Never done it since….

Going up and down curbs as it has three wheels you have to be level with the edge before dropping of a curb
Another lesson learnt the hard way.

I'm not intending to use it on the streets but my other one won't go up normal kerbs either I have to lift the front up.

If you look carefully at the pictures you will see that the pegs are mounted on a couple of drop down brackets that are welded to the head tube so in fact the pegs stay static when you turn the steering.

Well all immaterial now, it arrived about an hour ago and since then I have been trying to sort out a refund for it as the description is well out, it said it was only 29kg same as my Smarti 4 wheel, but it is 40kg according to it's manual, and too heavy for me to lift on my own which I'll be doing for 20 days when I go for my radio therapy.

so I need to find another very quickly.
