HOW LONG IS THIS PESKY THING LASTING OVER THE COUNTRY?

It has certainly laid low a lot of folk; not a good start to the new year, but it can only get better (y) Hope you are both soon firing on all cylinders again.

So sorry to hear you've been affected so badly Gordon and I hope you're both soon back to full health and chipperness :)
There were 2 bugs doing the rounds at the New Year meet... one was some kind of cough/cold virus and the other was a tummy bug. I was lucky enough not to catch either, phew! (y)

I have had it for over 2 weeks now , for the first 4 days it knocked me for six , I just wanted to sleep , I feel a lot better now but just cannot get rid of this chesty cough . Hope you both get well soon Gordon and Fiona

Chesty cough is still with us as well jeff, the pains in my back when coughing ,the xrays showed shadowing and 5ney were s bit concerned but on tablets etc,we’ve not been eating properly either as no appetite, think’ the sales in Andrew also went through the roof

Your appetite will come back soon but nothing has any taste the hot and cold sweats and the aches and pains take a lot longer . Good luck mate

For all those that has been affected by the bugs that’s doing the rounds, hope you all get well soon and up and running some say it lasts 48 hours some I’ve spoken to have had it for weeks, and they are the same as you Gordon saying about the cough that you can’t get shift it! But here’s hoping everyone will get back to full health

Hope you’re on the mend Gordon. I was fine but as soon as I got home from Hereford the next day I was flat out for about 4 days it seemed to clear up but then came back with vengeance I’ve been trying to just get on wae stuff but I’ve nae energy you’ve got a built in nurse but that’s nae good if she’s I’ll to. ?

I'm not suffering at the moment but with a bit of luck, I might be tomorrow!!
I'm back up to the Atkinson Morley unit this evening for the third time in a week and hope I'll get my spine op tomorrow morning. I keep getting bumped and sent home... guess it's inevitable with a specialist unit like theirs that they're going to get a lot of emergencies coming in from all over the South. In my 6-bed bay on Thursday, a young mum was brought in post-op after an aneurysm burst in her brain when she was home alone with her little boys... scary stuff! Later, another woman came in following emergency surgery the night before to remove a brain tumor... they hadn't expected her to pull through but by Friday she was strolling down to the day room with her grown up daughters! I just can't begrudge being bumped when they're doing life-saving work like that.

Anyway, third time lucky I hope :giggle:

All the very best wishes and good luck from us up here and I think I can say from all here on the forum.
Regards. Fiona and gordon

Thanks everyone. I'm still waiting to hear if its a go... meanwhile being starved and dessicated for the 4th time this week. They didn't have room for me on the right ward, so I'm tucked away in a corner 2 entire buildings away. What's the betting they won't be able to find me if/when the time comes? :ROFLMAO:
