Swing out cycle carrier for panel van

I want to be able to open the rear doors of my fiat Ducati panel van without having to take the bikes first.
I have 2 electric bikes totat weight 45kg so I don’t fancy using a cycle carrier attached to one of the doors because it’s a lot of weight on a set of door hinges and I don’t fancy having to lift my heavy bikes so high.
Has anybody else overcome this problem?
Is a very expensive swing out cycle carrier the only option?

Try the Roofbox Co. They are very knowledgeable and worth a ring.I don't think there will be a cheap option for this though.
I had to fit towbar and Atera Strada sliding rack to achieve this on my Ducato.It is a really good bit of kit and I use it weekly.
Roofbox Co. supplied rack and useful info. as despite stocking several sliding racks only one would actually allow clearance of rear doors on a Ducato.

I 'believe' the back door type are unsuitable for electric bikes as they exceed recommended weight and I would think a swing out one would have the same difficulty, you'd need to unload the bikes before it would swing, I have a towbar mounted thule and I cann't open the door either so I'd be interested in any solutions that come up, btw a drop plat will give enough clearance on certain carriers sadly not on my thule one.

Door Hinges may be stronger then you think?
File attached - a rear storage box spec'ed at 300Kg, attached to the hinges of a Sprinter through the adjustment holes.
I have a Spare Wheel carrier and Spare Wheel attached in exactly the same way.

It is not the best website in the world for clarity, but I think something like the base-rak (http://www.bak-rak.com/base-rak.htm) with Tumble mount (seen on this page - http://www.bak-rak.com/box-rak.htm), fitted on the telescopic extender bars would work

I've been looking at this for a towbar mounted platform which will move out the way for the doors.

Easy job with the welder to knock up what you want,i can see it all in my head now,can you.

That towbar mounted contraption looks the answer almost, could it be made slightly more telescopic like a tube within a tube to pull the bikes just a bit farther away from the doors? I have the added inconvenience of having my toilet cassette in there too which means a daily chore moving bikes.

Are you referring to the picture I posted? If so, the seller has telescopic extender bars to go with it. Give them a call.

I had the same issue. Eventually bought a Memo van swing. Works a treat.

Did you manage to find somewhere cheaper?

Hi, yes they are not cheep. But, after one holiday using it i would have paid double.
And, yes, I did get it cheaper. I contacted Memo direct, they were more than happy to sell to me.
Think I paid around €600 plus delivery. Was easy DIY fit.
