The charity chat room thread

Hello 2019! :)

Fresh pasteis de nata, just cooling down, one batch plain, one with cinnamon pastry. Mmmmm. 😋 Off to a New Year's Day dinner somewhere in the Durham countryside, the pastries are coming with us
Hope everyone had a good New Year's Eve - I fell asleep!!! That's what happens when you get to be an old codger 😂😁 xx

So, Mr Brown, I would save you one if it was possible, honest! 😘 :D

Morning all,
Having brekky in Cromer, then off to drown a few lugworms :)
Glad your not having lugworms for bekkie....ugh.

Do you fish from the beach or the pier there? Either way, if the weather's the same as ours, you've not picked a bad morning.

From the beach Sue. Weather is dry but a biting wind

Had a great meal in a Norfolk village pub and spent Sat night in their car park. Drove down here to Appledore yesterday and the bin boys have just given us a wake up call:).
Where to go today

Do you fit in 1 bay or do you use one of the bays in the back corner ( near the playground ) where you can overhang into the void ?

The parking warden kindly told us about them so i only needed to buy 1 ticket :)

Unlike other places where they`d have said nowt and just slapped on a ticket

Last night I parked alongside the water next to the bus turning area, with the front end out of the bay. I've spoken to most of the 'wardens' and they are a friendly helpful bunch. Parking alongside the estuary next to the path you can overhang the bay without causing a problem and the wardens accept this.
There were six vans here last night, 3 left before the warden arrived! At £5 a night with toilets, pubs and chippies nearby it is a good overnighter. The old pub (can't remember the name) near the lifeboat station has just re-opened and a local dog walker that we see quite often said it was really good, so worth a look on our next visit.
Just had brekky at Bideford Morrisons, cos we had run out of bread ;)

Evening all the wind is blowing a gale here near Durham tonight and it’s a tad chilly with it!!

Back at base camp :(
A bit of info for anyone heading to St Just - the rugby club no longer welcomes campers, thanks to the local council.
We were going to stay on the headland but it was chewed up and we couldn't find anywhere we fancied.

Helped a friend make a start clearing an allotment yesterday. It's not his, some rich folk in Durham are going to be paying him to look after it for them while they work away on London (sigh) ;)

Back proper gardening from tomorrow, planting some new bare root fruit trees for a customer Wednesday, rearranging a border for another on Friday. Taking a bit of time off for good behaviour in the middle on Thursday and meeting up with a good pal to binge on cake & coffee and catch up on life in general.

Our old camper is recently misbehaving when starting, so Neil will hopefully manage to start it this morning and get it to local (diesel specialists) garage at Beamish to have it checked over. Still looking for a Laika as a replacement though...

Sister brought Mum back today

On the bright side, I'm going to have a lump dug out of my head tomorrow morning, so spect there'll be sawdust everywhere ;)

As long as the moths don't escape Chris, you'll be fine ;)

Morning campers just seen this on FB don’t know if it’s any good for anyone or you already know about it 40E40954-2DA3-4717-8204-D9876DCF29D0.png

Brill treatment yesterday, called into the theatre on time, painless op, drinking coffee half hour later (y) No sawdust, but I think I heard her mention a large void :(
