Think, think,think before you post

I have seen it on other sites and a couple of times on here. Think before you post stating " only x days until we go away" or "off for 3 months" etc. You are advertising to all the local scum "come and rob me". If you put a claim in to your insurance they are likely to check your fb page and other sites you may be on to see what you have posted/ Any excuse to avoid paying out.

Not entirely disagreeing with what you say, but how do the local scum know where people posting on here using forum names live? I can understand it more where real names are used, making it easier to locate an address. Maybe enough clues are given to locate an individual if said scum are good at searching, or maybe people are just paranoid these days.
Even knowing people are away, technology also works against the miscreant. It is very easy to have complex alarms with cameras linked to cloud recording and text alerts. Maybe those of us who invest in such gadgets are being paranoid ourselves.

It's not so much on here but on FB many people put their own photos on for their profiles as well as their real names. This does include me I must admit but I am very careful about making sure I don't but dates etc. on.

Only 3 days before we go away..............................I don't do farcebook.:p

I'm a worrier too. I even put the incorrect date of birth on my FaceBook page. Not that I ever publish anything there.

More chance of noticing there isn't a motorhome on my drive, perhaps I should get one of these to throw them off the scent

I am lucky there as ours is stored 3 miles away and the car may be in the garage with cameras on the front and rear of the house. These may not deter scum but at least we would be able to see who did it.

Don't know about lucky, I would worry whether the mh was safe in storage, unless you check on it every day, much better having it outside the house where I can see it.

It is in locked storage with security cameras and a resident security man. They could just as easily nick it from outside the house as from the compound. Mind you, it is 22 years old so not worth much. It is also too big to go on the drive. 24ft tag axle.
