We are about to go on a trip to North Wales & Anglesey and plan to visit a few historic sites such as castles etc. I noticed that it might be a better option to take out joint membership of CADW for £66.60/year which also gives 1/2 price admission to all English heritage & Scottish properties in the first membership year but are free on renewal. English Heritage do likewise for CADW properties for £105/year. So it would seem that the CADW membership is the better deal for us and will break even at just 4.5 visits with the rest free. If buying English Heritage joint membership we would then have to pay half price admission to CADW properties totalling about £50 or so on top for this trip. We will likely only visit Welsh properties this year but when renewed next year it will also give free access to English and Scottish properties. It seems a no-brainer but is there a catch? ?
