Today I did

Today I put 5he heating on in the van for a few hours as the temp has risen,water was drained etc but just had warm air heating banging on for a few hours
Gordon, I know the Truma heating manual states you can fire up the warm blown air system without water within, and I have done this too, but I am not keen doing this. I just feel having water within the boiler, acts as a heat dump when the going gets hot. What do you think?

Gordon, what is "she heating" do you really need a hot woman and does your carer know, I bet she doe s now-----you naughty boy:eek:

Yeah know what your saying but like you say manual does say but I'm no running for a prolonged period really

I use a small fan heater on a timmer running one kilowatt about 2 times through the night for a hr or so to keep moisture at bay.

Often use the heating without water in the system manly to warm things up a bit so I can reset the frost protection valve in order to refill with water before going away. Also run it occasionally on very cold nights when the van is parked up at home as although it’s drained down I worry that there may be small pockets of water in the system.

Running round like a headless chicken trying to find where I had dumped all the kit that had to be removed for the floor delamination repair. Leaving for the Spain Ferry from Portsmouth on Wednesday morning for 16th January sailing to Santander, so tomorrow will be even more manic with final packing, tyre pressure checks, bike loading, fresh water filling, and diesel/lpg refills before setting off.

Cancelled AA European Breakdown Cover purchased last week, having spent 35 minutes on the phone to them getting a change of address with 2 different Agents; despite taking all this time, the change of address had not been entered, so, in the event of a vehicle repatriation, we would have been returned to the wrong address ... 20 minutes to cancel the policy, then a further Online Chat Session, because the requested email did not state that I had cancelled the Policy. Still not resolved, because 'the European Breakdown Section is not available to answer emails today, so we will give you an answer tomorrow'!!!

AA = Absolutely Awful.

New policy take with RAC, but that too 2 phone calls and almost 1 hour to finalise because of the address change problem ...

Not using the Commodore Lounge on the Ferry, so paid an extra £50 for a Large Food Voucher, which gives £57.50 worth of onboard dining. At least we'll be able to get a proper meal, after, as the couple on the next Table said [about the £85 per head Commodore Lounge on our last crossing], 'We've just paid £170 for 4 All Day Breakfasts ...' with a huge reduction in choice and quality of food. How to take a good deal and ruin it completely ...

The day id pay anyone that sort of money for breakfast there will be 2 moons in the sky, packed lunch & flask of coffee.
We used the Commodore Lounge in early February 2024, and there was constant hot food, good quality, distinct breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner offerings; but, less than 3 months later, the Menu was nothing like the same, more akin to a Greasy Spoon, hence the comment about £170 for 4 breakfasts. It's 40 hours sailing so a sandwich and flask will not suffice!

Is this with DFDS? We went for the Commodore Cabin upgrade on the last two trips to Amsterdam. As well as a much nicer cabin, got a private lounge with free pastries, unlimited soft and alcoholic drinks and breakfast included.
Thought it a pretty decent deal actually.
