Todays park up

went to amboise for a brass band contest lovely place the castle has a circular ramp for carriages to climb up winding round like a XV century multi-storey car park

We love Amboise too, the staff at the municipal site are amazingly helpful. And if you haven't already been, don't miss the Clos Lucé gardens. It isnt just a garden, it's a da Vinci outdoor experience.

And - we have the same seats as you, we had the best of customer service when one of the seat pads frayed. I'm not going to bore you with the detail but Isabella couldn't have been more helpful.

The girl in reception loved us I had them in raptures she said to my wife ah you have a famous name Fiona and I butted in sayiny oh yeah bloody princess fiona and I'm frgn shriek well they were psn themselves she eventually said no that's not what I was going to say😀😀😀😀😀😀😀but we got extra wi fi freel pool tickets and she gave loads of tips. Etc as you say great staff

We are at Honfleur tonight place is rammed been here a couple of times before. Funny how if you do the same place too many times it looses that sparkle. Town is lovely and we had a nice meal but the aire is just a big dirty gravel carpark with over a hundred vans all parked too close for my liking. The town must be raking it in from this place they need to put a little back in. Off tomorrow think we are going to visit the Normandy D day beaches then on to Mont st Micheal.

I know the aire, once is enough. Arromanches-les-Bains is a decent base to stop to visit the WW2 stuff, refer to my france 2023 tour thread, a defo is the 2021 British memorial, very humbling.

The Mont is great, I recommend you visit at night, too busy through the day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,enjoy, and our regards to Christine.

I completely agree. The town is lovely but the aire is awful, and we won't ever stay then there again.

One of my favourites used to be Oye-Plage. Simply roll off the night ferry, quietly creep into the dunes, turn off the engine, and zzzzzzzz.

Next morning, breakfast followed by a walk to the sea, a stroll along the board walks, and then head south. Now blocked off and gone. Such is life. 🙂

The Reception Staff are fabulous! Very friendly and helpful. Probably time for a return visit, after a 4 year absence they'll have forgiven me by now! We had the Gobur Folding Caravan then, so I can always say that that person was my twin, the Black Sheep of the family ... :ROFLMAO:

A bit grey this morning and a bit of rain on the way down to Mont st Michell temp still above 20. It Dried up nicely in the afternoon don’t mind if it rains in the morning especially on the driving days. We are going to a site with a swimming pool and a beach for 4 nights.

I remember the upsy-downsy Mont Saint-Michel from some years ago, and at a time when it was still possible to park overnight directly in front of the abbey, and we loved the place.

I stood on the van's bed to photograph it floodlit at night through the open roof window, the elevated position giving the illusion there were no other campers there, other than us. I missed sunrise, possibly due to a sherbet too many. ☹️
