Sure this has been asked before but would like to know if these cheap trackers are any good. Some around the £35-40 mark seem to have good reviews but would like to know if anyone has any experience or recommendations. Thanks Adrian

Don't know about the cheap ones but I have a Defender stop the thief tracker only £95 a year and it has a 100% success rate

Yes I've got a TK 102 off eBay its excellent just give it a ring from your phone it hangs up then texts you back a google link with your position with in 20 mtrs. They are a little more now but I paid £8 for mine a few years ago

Thank you. Nice to know the cheap ones do actually work. I have heard the batteries can run out quickly on some models. Not sure if this applies to yours?

i bought one on saturday but i am having problems setting it up probably cos im old but i will get there

I have fitted an autowatch 973 it has 5 inputs and 3 outputs I have it connected to my alarm so get txt if alarm goes off and I can send it a txt to immobilise it and also turn the heating on. Also i have fitted a dummy tracker monitor and if they do find the autowatch it has a battery powered retrieve which they won’t find

I,ve never tried how long battery lasts but easily 3 days its charged via usb just like a phone. If I where replacing it now I'd go for one of these TRACKER which are permanently live

If you read the instructions that came with it does it say 2G sim card required as mine did although several years ago now. But I missed that at first and it gave me a few hrs trouble setting up. GifGaf do 2 G sims especially for trackers or did

Thanks for your help and advice.

I have a TK104 (About £40 from ebay) (https://bit.ly/2QKCBFd) and a Virgin Sim (£7/mth).
Very easy to install, and I have it uploading its location to my website every 11 seconds (Optional) (https://www.traccar.org/demo-server/).

There are many functions on this device.
You can set a virtual "Stockade" around your van and if it goes out of the ringed fence it will text you.
There is a "Shock" sensor built in (Can be set / unset via text) that will text you if the van is rocked.

Check out the owners manual - https://bit.ly/2SAssrW

I am currently working on a very low cost arduino based dual PIR and auxilliary activator so if anyone activates the PIR sensors or opens the doors etc then the TK104 will text me.
This can also be set / unset via a text message or local remote.

Thank you. It seems there are plenty of options and that cheaper ones do work.
