Consider double axles Ray.
When we took our Peugeot 107 abroad, I bought a single axle trailer. I could not, for the life of me, get the balance right, It worked best reversing it on the trailer, so the weight of the engine was not directly over the tow ball. I came to the conclusion that two axles would have shared the load and reduced the weight on the hitch to almost zero.
