Happy New Year Everyone (I hope).
I've just fitted a new starter battery to my elderly moho. I have a large solar panel feeding the leisure batteries but I'd like to be able to top up the starter battery while the van is not in use.

Limited knowledge of electrics so I need a straightforward solution, but any advice or ideas gratefully received.

Thanks in advance. 😁

You could buy a solar controller with dual output that will charge your leisure battery and also charge your cab battery or you could buy something like a CSB2 battery automatic recharging device. See link below.
I have had 2 of these in different vans. They work perfectly. I haven’t used our van for the last few months, the solar panel has kept the leisure batteries and cab battery fully charged.

Fitted these a few weeks ago had no good weather for weeks so very poor amps being harvested ,,but still starting ok.

If you have a mppt regulator then this is a simple way using a 200ah relay and switch, also handy for a booster jump start.
