Trumatic E2400

I have a n E2400 pre 2001 as my cab heater, and someone has decided that their need of the cowl cover is greater than mine. I have drawn a blank on sourcing a replacement. Truma say the part is obsolete, and all the usual sources say they have no stock. Can anyone tell me if the post 2001 cover KKW-2 can be modified to fit.
I realise that the cover is not essential, but it is easier just to remove the cover when the heater is needed, than to access the heater and remove flies , spiders etc. from the combustion chamber if a fault occurs.

Yes that is the post 2001 cover, but I don't know if the diameter is the same, and I would have to modify the locating lugs, as the later cowl is a different design.

It does say it’s for pre 2001.

My truma 2400 is just 21 years old. Don't use it very often, but it is used from time to time. It has never had a flue cover and it has never had an insect or spider problem (that I know about). I suggest that you can probably manage without one. I do.

All the companies contacted did not have any of the items in stock and had no idea if they could source the item in the future.
My problem is that the vent is right at the front shoulder of the van, with a very short duct the footwells, and without the cover I have
a cold feed versus the cab heating in the winter, and very warm air competing with the AC in the summer. The system was fitted by the
original owner to keep the drop down bed area, closed with heavy curtains with warm air whilst off-grid in Austria, skiing. There are two
other heating systems. I eventually found an online item that was the wrong colour, wrong Ref No. but looked right. they had two covers
with completely the wrong Spec. but they fit perfectly and are on the second coat of paint to match.

I thought that these devices were room-sealed, with a coaxial flue, where the fresh feed comes in the outside, the hot exhause up the middle.
When it is not running, there is no reason why air should be moving through it at all.
I can't understand why you would get cold draughts as a result of the vent cap being off.
