Help!!!!

Not used a tv in van b4.
Any tips on critical aspects??
Tried revolving and tilting aerial with nothing but “no signal” showing on tv!!!
Booster plugged in and aerial cable to tv.
Any ideas.F0719F62-CA4A-43D5-ABCA-1B6DC11988E5.jpeg2E596509-8610-45B8-BC93-04ECA54B8FC1.jpegE6360774-059D-4D79-B212-800F8611E7DE.jpeg

I use Freeview aim it not only tell you the direction to point but also if the aerial should be horizontal or vertical. Otherwise a signal detector may help.

Does the TV work alright at home.
Did the TV come with a handbook?
That will detail how its to be tuned in, they are not all the same.

First have a look and see if there are anyone else with their aerial up and direction.
Does your Status aerial have a light which can show red, orange or green - if so turn it until green or even orange.
Select Menu on tv, find channel search and select digital or all, let tv tune in to all channels - could take a minute or two.
If picture comes up and pixellated, turn aerial slightly until OK.
You will need to do this for every location as transmitters are all different.
Sometimes there are too many to choose and TV asks which region you are in.
Hope this helps,
Alan

We had this problem when we first bought the TV, it was the tuning part that stumped us, we have to start by tuning in the analogue section, which we cancel straight away, then tune in with the digital section. Takes a min or two but always tunes in now. If we don't get all the channels we turn the ariel round/make vertical.

Many many years ago on the Sango Sands campsite at Durness we met a couple from Wigan that had an identical Avtex tv to us but couldn`t get anything on it what so ever despite us having a perfect picture on the next pitch to them, they were getting very annoyed.

He couldn`t understand it and explained that he`d tuned it in at home ( Winter Hill transmitter ) and it worked perfectly but now he had nothing.

He didn`t know that you had to retune it in every time you moved to a different area and was extremely embarrassed when i explained what was wrong.

This thread has brought it all back :ROFLMAO:

I know this won't work out in the wilds. You would need to see a house with an outside aerial, not a sat dish. I take a walk to nearby houses and check their aerial position on a compass app on my phone, the when back at the van, I duplicate this. In very good reception areas, and there aren't many, I can get away with using an omi-directional areial.

That doesn't work for me in quite the same way, I normally have to point the opposite way to everyone else but then again that goes for everything in my life :)

So true

There is an app called Digital TV Antennas that you can download for your phone.
When you open it on your phone, an arrow will show your nearest transmitters and the distance away from you they are.
It saves guess work and walking around to see other aerials.
