UK motorway services overnighting

Are these to be recommended/ safe as opposed to overseas?

alternatively any recommended places close to M5 Michael wood, north of Bristol?

It can be a bit pricey but I have stayed overnight on them, not where you are asking though I stopped on Tebay on the M1, was £18 for 24 hours and you got either £3 or £4 off food with that. Obviously there is toilets and they do have a shower if you want

I always stay at Whitminster Inn on the A38, close to M5 Junction 13 when in the area https://www.whitminsterinn.co.uk/

I have never had a problem and the staff have been friendly with no pressure to eat there. I know they have a paddock which they were considering opening up to caravans and motor homes but still allowing over nighting on their lower car park when last I used it.

We've stayed at the Fromebridge Mill pub again off j13 M5, then left off slip road and go straight across the round about, large parking area to right of main carpark, right next to river and its free if you have a beer.
