in 2019 we had a rally in holland for the flower festival at kukenheim just outside the campsite there was a roadside stall selling huge amaryllis bulbs i bought 4 and
the first year we had a great display in the years since we have had dozens of daughter bulbs but no flowers it looks as though this year we look like getting flowers again 👍,
though it was late when i planted out some cucumber plants i had them on auto watering while we were in scotland/Orkney for 5 weeks and they have survived one plant was classed as a lemon apple cucumber?? if you look bottom left of the picture there is one will try it later

In my experience, the best way to get repeat amaryllis flowers is to forget about the bulbs and let them dry out.
I seem to be given all the ones that people are given as gifts, once they've finished flowering. I treat 'em mean and they come back keen. Mind you, they look a tatty mess for at least 6 months of the year.
That lemon apple cucumber sounds interesting. 🤔

i agree with the treat em mean philosophy linda bought some from the same source or got about them and months later when she opened the paper bag they were in full f lower having seen neither soil or water for several months ,
we ate the lemon cucumber last night tasted ok not significantly different to the norm but both my grandsons loved it
