Updating a Kindle

I don't read outside anyway and you can buy matte screen covers anyway.

I've had mine for about 6 years now a paperwhite and was used when I got it, it still does what it did when I got it but was considering updating it, not new just newer and wondered what might be best to get next, colour would be nice, Wifi of course, GPS maybe but there are so many different options it's a bit bewildering to be honest.

Any suggestions.
I have a previously used paper white just bought it 6 months ago I’m struggling with how to get into my library without going through the process of going through the settings then re loading can you instruct me I’ve managed all the other workings I need to use but that process

Not got mine to hand but I just tap at the top of the screen until some options appear, one of which is library.

For stuff like this I find a YouTube tutorial very useful as you can pause it at each step.

Thank you for that it worked feel a bit embarrassed I hadn’t sussed it before now

Don't be daft, there's more to come, wait while you're reading a normal book and try tapping the pages to turn them :D :D :D

The colour one isn't as good in the sunlight as the paper white, there's a reason it's called a "paper" white ;)

I always wished Amazon hadn't used the word Kindle when naming their Fire tablet... it's a completely different animal and just as hopeless for reading as any other tablet on the market. The unfortunate naming causes no end of confusion. Nothing can beat a proper Kindle Reader for looking just like the pages of a book and being gentle on the eyes. I've still got Kindles with the keyboard at the bottom - very, very early models, pre-paperwhite or touch screen. When one gives up for some reason or a screen breaks, I just buy another on ebay. Have a nice collection of spare parts now! :giggle: I've never upgraded because I've got a few leather covers for my original Kindle shape and don't want to ditch them all for a new size. Besides, my old-school ones work just perfectly. As for actual physical books, I tried to read one the other day but found I couldn't make the text bigger... what's that about? :ROFLMAO:

The current Amazon ads refer Fire Tablets, they seem to have dropped Kindle from the title. Much clearer with Kindle being a different product.

My kindle fire is Kindle fire HD 3rd Generation so sounds old? But I cannot fault it in any way perfik in full sun long charge hold vast storage for books with cloud too whatever that is, audio, WiFi etc etc and only £5 from a car boot a year ago.
