Latest have to have (by law in 2026!) is a replacement for the warning triangle in Spain. It is the V-16 emergency lamp with geolocation. Only for Spain at the moment BUT!!! What’s the betting others follow…. Lots for sale on tinterweb but most cheap ones don’t have the mandatory geolocation requirement.

sounds like a good idea. and volume production (needed if becomes mandatory in EU) will make the price drop massively.

The V16 lamp has a range of up to 1 km and is placed on the roof of the vehicle which is obviously higher than hazard lights.
Current Spanish law requires you to place 2 reflective triangles one 50 metres behind the vehicle and the other 50 m in front of the vehicle, this exposes the person to a higher risk of being hit.
Hazard lights can be used.
The V16 unit has a GPS transmission capability which allows the authorities to locate you, send police or motorway patrols to supervise the incident. The authorities are also able to use the information to display information on gantries.
Hopefully Google maps or similar will be able to show the problem location live to forewarn other road users.
