One for David I tthink.
TBH, this is not a process I have ever had to follow surprisingly, so I would just follow the process in the manual and have no useful tips.

Other than maybe ....

Have you still got the old phone or iPad you used to connect previously?
If so, you should be able to connect and then you might be able to change the pin number to a new one without knowing the old one? Then use the new pin with the new device

thank you david i looked at changing the pin through the old device unfortunately the first part of process is to enter your old pin i couldn’t see the old pin but looking at it though the pin showed up as 6 digits obviously not the ones on the victron label so i made a few guesses and eventually got it luck of the irish as they say

Well done. Useful to know you do have to know the old pin to change it (y)

6 numerals. = DOB
Simples init
In my case it’s something like 01 02 05
Yup I’ll be 21 in February cos the 05 would be 2005.😡

Your right del 6 digits = dob 8 digits army number , I hate it when you change your password because it’s not taking input and then tells you that you can’t use one you’ve used in last year lol

Army number. Never realised it was eight numbers. Had to count on my fingers.

I remember back. Because when I joined, you could “ join the Army for a week “. Problem was, the number you were given was so high, no other unit was using anything like that. Consequently any time they wanted the most junior other rank to “ volunteer “ for anything. It was always me. I’m still not sure if they are using 241…… 56 years later.

Mine is 24133### issued February 68 we had a corporal that served in the war only 7 digits in his number

I wonder if something like the numbers from your NI number is a better bet. Too many people will know your DOB and try that as a pin.
assuming you remember your NI number that is :)

I didn't realise till now just how old some of the members here are. I have an 8-digit date of birth. ;)

My da told me I would need to know my NI number for the rest of my life, YM6907### so it stuck, also our Co-Op dividend number, 75880

For card PINs, there are 4 blocks of four; there must be gazillions of ways to use those to make a four digit pin that is easy to use as you need to have it in your hand to use it.

Such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th of each block etc

Mum’s co op number 568681

My bus conductor number N103603

I obviously had a thing about uniforms. I’ve also been a Postman (3.5 weeks) Rail guard ( couple of months), plus assorted company jackets, hi vis and the like. Plus several pairs of “Tango’s” when marshalling motorcycle race meets.
