Don't forget the clocks have gone back

The fireworks will come in there extremes, we have been hearing them slowly but surely for a few weeks now

When we moved to East Sussex we'd never heard of the bonfire groups. Many towns and villages hold evening marches in full regalia carrying flaming torches and accompanied by various types of marching bands.

Some villages dress up as pirates, others WW1 or Boer War soldiers, others period costume, others cowboys, etc., etc.

Half way round the procession stops off at a pub, using beer mugs they carry swinging from a belt.

At the end, there is a village or town bonfire, accompanied by fireworks. It's all very colourful, brash and noisy, and it's all in aid of charity.

Lewes is probably the most well known where last year they burned an effigy of Trump.

If you are in East Devon, you could pop along to Ottery St. Mary on the 5th Nov - they have the Flaming Tar Barrels going through the main street (including smaller barrels for children to carry).
How that has managed to continue with the modern H&S rules I have no idea (I also didn't find it very enjoyable to watch as could just picture people burning themeselves and onlookers, so only went to see the once)

In some southern states of the USA, they march in white hooded robes carrying torches. Very exiting, no idea why.
