We are on the way (FR / CH / DE)

Thursday. Twisty hilly drive to here

Randevillars in many senses a "wildcamp" just a carpark reserved for motorhomes....No facilities
best viewed in satellite mode

Friday
A lovely twisty hill drive again to Le Russey. This road was a decent road and lovely pastoral views in the Jura
Le Russey has a small aire with all facilities and some shade

Images up both France and Switzerland.
Links in previous post.
Proper wild camp tonight !

Thursday July 18th 110 miles to Bellinzona: via the St Gotthard pass
Another great day..Up and away quicker than usual as the aire a bit cramped.
Minor detour trying to avoid M-way. (The detour probably cost us 2 x 5 miles and 30 mins). Then to Andermatt not using the M-Way / Tunnel..Big queues for tunnel as I suspect the road management try to ensure no stationary vehicles/queues actually in the tunnel because of exhaust fumes.
The road up to Andermatt was very twisty and steepish and confused TomTom.
After Andermatt long sweeping bends. So a 2 stage ascent
Lunch at the Top 7000ft
The descent was similar gentle at first then a bit steeper with loads of hairpins but again all very easy.
Again big, no huge queues at the southern entrance to the tunnel.
Easy M-way to Bellinzona and in the carpark at 2 pm having disposed of grey and black waste and got water at a motorway service area.

As we are now in "Italian Switzerland"...It will be pasta tonight..Our version of Spag bol..
Pork not beef, and shells rather than string.
Apparently the spaghetti harvest has been poor this year !

Summary of costs so far and more
France £253 12 days so weekly =£148 Plus Eurotunnel @£85 but this and the return cost needs to be shared !

Switzerland £774 for 25 days so weekly = £217
This includes the vignette and also the elongated stay at a camp due to the puncture
It does not include the puncture costs as that goes into the Yearly budget
It may be that I can clam most of the extra campcosts back
Thus maybe just under £200 a week including an excursion

Food, especially meat, is very expensive in Switzerland
Good beer from Lidl is cheaper than UK
Non camp-site overnighting is good and cheap or free.but.....
Disposal of black waste needs "planning" but there are free services on some motorways and other service points
(eg Leysin and some aires/stellplatz)
With 90 litres of Fresh water and grey water this is aspect is fairly easy
The M-way vignette is essential (IMO) as normal highways "turn into Motorways" with no alternative.
The passes we used were all fine just need care to avoid the tunnels.
We did not use the Furka or Susten passes as they seemed hairy in places.
The 2x St Bernards (Grand et Petit) were not on our route again a bit hairy I think.
We toured most of Switzerland the roads were good and the scenery etc brilliant.
Certainly worth a trip (say up to 1 month) and not "Budget Blowing".
Just my thoughts
PS 730 miles
