Yes agreed, the quill and ink hand writing is beautiful, far superior to my Egyptian hieroglyphics efforts.

The bottle used, these were common way back then, stored on their length, this kept the cork moist and sealed, same as wine bottles. Here is a couple of mine I saved from a watery grave.

Terry that cabinet would be empty if you could get the 2p return on the bottles. 😜
Wully, stick on yer Budgie stranglers and head to the Cowel peninsula, deep breath and dive doon to the wreck, there are a lot more bottles down there, worth far more than 2p on a return. Don't drinks contents, you'll be ill, wait a minute, nothing new there then :giggle:
